About PFL

An Inclusive Value Chain Model

Papa Farmers Ltd (PFL) began its operations in Kenya in late 2016 and is based in the county of Kilifi. Since then, it developed modern and sustainable farming, sorting, drying, processing & packing operations with a farm property in Fundiisa (30 km north of Malindi), formed partnerships with over 1,000 contracted Small-Holder Farmers in various counties, and a processing plant strategically located in the small coastal town of Malindi. Our farm and contracted Farmer-Partners (to whom we provide seeds and agronomic training) are currently producing various types of produce, specifically Chilies and Moringa Oleifera, which we then buy from them to convert into value-added bulk and consumer products based on those 2 crops only.

We aspire to work with more and more farmers in our region, over the years to come, in order to continue to improve livelihoods in our target areas and maintain control (in terms of quality and quantity) of the vast production capacities of the produce we convert and sell. Our current Farmer-Partners (i.e. small-holder farmers) operate from the counties of Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River, Taita-Taveta, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Laikipia, with more being added as we go.

(By the way, as of mid-2021 we are also engaged in planting lots of trees in our Fundiisa Agro-Forestry Project in order to give back to the environment.)

Our Vision

To be a modern, sustainable, socially and environmentally-responsible enterprise, committed to at least 11 of the 17 SDGs* prescribed by the United Nations. We envision partnering with thousands of Small-Holder Farmers across Kenya to produce high-quality Organic crops which we will in turn convert into premium, distinctively packaged plant-based food products and natural health supplements for distribution around the World.

We plan to responsibly grow, process, pack, and promote our goods for distribution in markets across East Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle-East, with the mandate of being catalysts of positive & sustainable social and environmental change, in agricultural regions where we and our partner Small-Holder Farmers operate.
